Cane Patch Kitchen is a business rooted in history and love. The owners, hailing from Shreveport, Louisiana and Burgess, South Carolina started out on their own journeys with separate businesses but their paths inevitably crossed.
Ms. Ebony Broadway started with Healthy Soul selling vegan and vegetarian soul food. She wanted her upbringing to be represented truthfully but also in a new, healthy light. With the approval of her ancestors, she altered the recipes and within the blink of an eye they took off. Her popularity grew by word of mouth in San Diego County’s finest farmer’s markets.
Mr. Tony Smalls brought his family’s sweet potato dessert recipes to vend at farmers markets in San Diego County and gained so much attention, his desserts won numerous prizes and their own spot in local Whole Foods markets. The two entrepreneurs joined forces to represent their culture honestly and birthed The Cane Patch Kitchen we see and love today.
